Greetings from this Festival Season!

Hello there! I actually wanted to write something about my upcoming events and festivals months ago, but this year has been quite troublesome on my personal level, so I obviously didn’t make it. We’re gonna talk about festivals and concert stuff now instead, while I’m in the middle of processing, editing and uploading my photos of my first two festivals this season. At the moment, I am able to show you new content every other day via my Instagram channel. I also do post stories almost daily there, so make sure you’re gonna leave me a follow there, if you don’t wanna miss out on those. Every like helps me grow btw, thank you in advance!

In Extremo at Feuertanz Festival 2026

After a late start back into the concert action (I attended only one concert in May), it was time to get in shape for Feuertanz Festival to take photos for LiveSound Magazine! Feuertanz 2026 had a solid line-up again and the weather was almost perfect this time. I met some friends of Deus Vult and Vera Lux again – it’s always such a pleasure to run across those dear folks! I think my musical highlight was only Deloraine, as I have seen most of this year’s bands a bit too often, I fear. The only thing which bugs me about Deloraine is that they are still a bit too close to Omnia… Oh, and I actually would have wanted to see Ragnarök again, but I couldn’t make it to the castle’s concert hall after such a long day.

Two weeks later I got back to Hörnerfest again. After a one year break, I was back as an external photographer there and I tried to enjoy as much as possible of this special anniversary edition. The immense heat was challenging, not only to my body, but also to my gear and car of course. Remember, one of my cameras had died due to heat and dust at Feuertanz Festival last year. Anyway, I had great fun with personal highlights such as Schandmaul, Nachtgeschrei and Hasenscheiße! What also makes every Hörnerfest quite unique is the chance to discover new acts and music every single time! I came across Crash Nomada, The Toshers and The Celtics for the first time and I went back happy with my new experiences.

What will be next?

Thankfully, I’m having a bit of a break now, which I’m using to edit and publish all the photos and stuff and in August, I’m planning to go to Schlosshof Festival once more. Feuertanz’ little brother will be having a hard time on a weekend filled with so many events and festivals. I will be there for LiveSound Magazine and I think, I’ll meet a lot of Feuertanz people again. This time I’ll make it to the Ragnarök concert, since it’s happening right on the main stage! I’m also looking forward to seeing Vroudenspil and Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen again – my 2026 definitely needs more pirate parties!
Update [2026-08-05]: I won’t make it to Ragnarök (again!), since I won’t be at Schlosshof Festival this year. Instead, I will attend Das Grosse Treffen (DGT) for the very first time and I’m quite excited to do so. The only downside is that the way down to Lake Constance will be much longer for me. To make up for that, the event there will be a day longer and I think I’ll stay at least for some time on Sunday, too, before I’m gonna have to head back home.

My last summer event will be Festival-Mediaval in September. I will be back as a photographer there after working with the team for two years. This means I’ll have more time to enjoy the shows and actually talk to all the people I meet there. Since the headliners are similar to other events of this season, my own favourites will probably be Celtica, Steve ‘n’ Seagulls and Songleikr. Another good thing is that I will be able to spend more time with my campsite mates. I love to be a busy bee at festivals, but some things always come too short.

A first glance at this Autumn

I’m still looking for events in Autumn, but some of them can but marked as safe already. I will be at TANZT! Festival again as well as at Mittelalter Meets Metal IV. Additionally, I might attend to some club concerts; I will let you know, when everything is final. Where are you heading this autumn? Any recommendations for me?
I will continue to enjoy my short break now and be offline for a few days. Next week, I’ll upload some more Hörnerfest photos, so stay tuned!

All the best
